Jungchan Dining began with a simple idea: the joy of welcoming friends into our home and sharing a meal together.

We met in Australia, where some of our most memorable moments were spent around the dining table. Friends would gather, stories would be shared, and meals would often stretch long into the evening. Food became more than nourishment, it became a way of connecting with people and creating a sense of belonging.

When we opened Jungchan Dining in Bandung, we wanted to recreate that feeling.

Our hope is that dining with us feels less like visiting a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a friend's home - one who happens to be a chef and loves preparing a thoughtful feast for their guests. Every detail, from the pace of the meal to the hospitality we offer, is designed to make you feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease.

At the heart of Jungchan Dining is Korean fermentation, a tradition that has shaped Korean cuisine for centuries. We are fascinated by the transformative power of time. Through fermentation, ingredients evolve into more complex and flavorful versions of themselves, becoming easier to digest, more nourishing, and supportive of a healthy gut.

For us, fermentation is more than a culinary technique. It is a philosophy that teaches patience, balance, and respect for nature. Many of the ingredients used throughout our menu are fermented in-house, allowing time to deepen their flavor and character while preserving their natural benefits.

Working with Korean cuisine in Indonesia comes with its own unique challenges. Many traditional ingredients are difficult to source consistently, and even when available, their quality may vary from season to season. Rather than seeing this as a limitation, we embrace it as an opportunity to be creative and thoughtful. We work closely with local producers, farmers, and artisans, adapting to what nature provides while remaining true to the spirit of Korean cooking.

Fermentation allows us to capture ingredients at their peak, extending their life and revealing new dimensions of flavor. It helps us build a cuisine that is both deeply rooted in Korean culinary heritage and responsive to the ingredients available around us. As a result, no season is ever exactly the same, and our menu continues to evolve alongside nature.

Through every meal, we hope to share not only delicious food, but also the values that inspire it: generosity, connection, curiosity, and the belief that some of life's most meaningful moments happen around the table.

Welcome to our home.
